Cybersafety - Keeping Safe Online.
Young people are likely to come across a range of different material when exploring the internet. While a lot of this material will be fun, educational or informative, some of the content they view may be upsetting or cause them distress.
The following hyperlink is to NetSafe : http://www.netsafe.org.nz/index.php
NetSafe is an independent non-profit organisation that promotes confident, safe, and responsible use of Cyberspace.
SuperClubs Plus
SuperClubs Plus is an “age verified and actively protected Social Learning Network where young children can meet friends, make new ones, have fun and learn cool stuff”. Telstra and the Telstra Foundation have supported SuperClubs Plus in Australia – and now TelstraClear is supporting its introduction to New Zealand.
The idea is to introduce children to the challenges of Social Networking, but in a controlled environment. Children get to communicate and post material – but without fear of cyber bullies or negative digital footprints. After some time within this environment – they are then ready to operate in unprotected environments. |
